RefPitches
A reference pitch travels simulaneously with a regular pitch, but is not hittable, and does not look like a ball. The RefPitch travels at the exact same speed as the pitch, but is always aimed at the center of the strikezone.
The display of a ref pitch is a translucent grey disk, perpendicular to the z-axis displayed a couple/four inches behind (-z direction) the true position. The regular pitch will be drawn, as a white sphere, nearer to the batter than the ref. The batting user can use the relative positions of the sphere and the grey reference disk to judge where the ball is headed, and how to bat in response.
There are two variations:
RefNormPitch
This travels like a fastball/changeup, with a backspin, but at the same speed as the pitch. A curveball will show a markedly different trajectory than the refPitch, appearing high early, and low later.
RefSimPitch
Just like the regular pitch it is patterned on, but targeted at mid-strikezone. It curves with a curveball, or slides with a slider. This is probably more hittable then the RefNormPitch? (a plus), since it obviates the need to distinguish between curves and fastballs. It does remove that one element of judgement from the game (a minus).
